† Combined mode: Local students taking programmes in combined mode can attend full-time (12-18 credit units per semester) or part-time (no more than 11 credit units per semester) study in different semesters without seeking approval from the University. For non-local students, they will be admitted to these programmes for either full-time or part-time studies. Non-local students must maintain the required credit load for their full-time or part-time studies and any changes will require approval from the University.



Programme Aims and Objectives

The programme aims to produce effective and efficient information systems management professionals who are equipped with a good understanding of the latest information systems management theories and techniques, as well as their applications.


Entrance Requirements

Applicants must:

  • hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a closely related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) from a UGC funded tertiary education institution in Hong Kong, or equivalent; AND preferably have two or more years of working experience in information systems.

OR

  • hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (e.g., business, management, engineering) from a UGC funded tertiary education institution in Hong Kong, or equivalent; AND preferably have four or more years of working experience in information systems.

Applicants whose entrance qualification is obtained from an institution where the medium of instruction is not English should also fulfill the following minimum English proficiency requirement:

  • TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test) or 79 (internet-based test); or
  • Overall band score of 6 in International English Language Testing (IELTS); or
  • Score 450 in the new College English Test (CET6) of Chinese mainland or a pass in the old CET-6 test; or
  • Other equivalent qualifications

Electives

Participants can enroll 11 credits from a variety of electives courses offered by various departments in the College of Business.


Bonus Features

The Dissertation and Project electives allow participants to undertake in depth study of any specific information systems management issue. The Residential Trip elective in the form of a field study of normally 7 to 8 days outside Hong Kong. 

Continuing Education Fund (CEF): Some courses offered in this programme are eligible for the application of a subsidy from the CEF and each applicant may receive up to HK$10,000 refund within a two-year application period.#
