The DEC with its emphasis on discovery and innovation lies at the heart of our academic strategy and four-year curriculum for teaching and learning, advanced scholarship, and community-related activities at City University. The DEC has as its foundation the notion that every student will have the chance to make an original discovery while at City University. The slogan Discover&Innovate@CityU captures the DEC approach to teaching and learning, which is to motivate and ignite a passion for knowledge and discovery in our students, prepare them to practice professionally at and beyond international standards, and promote a culture of knowledge and innovation that spurs local and global advancements in professional practice. EDGE’s role in DEC is to promote the Discover&Innovate@CityU culture in teaching and learning to every student and staff member within the university, and to assist staff members in integrating DEC into undergraduate programmes.
