The Department is committed to training science graduates so that they can contribute to the various technical, educational and industrial demands in Hong Kong . It aims to develop in students the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to achieve a fulfilling personal development and a successful career. The Department ’ s degree programmes are applied in nature and designed to cater for specific requirements of Hong Kong and its adjacent regions. These include an increasing awareness of the need to protect the environment in the face of the rapid growth of the population and industrial development in the Pearl River Delta. The department has top-quality research programmes in environmental technology and green chemistry.
