Sub-Schemes of JUPAS
School Principal's Nominations Scheme
The main objective of this Sub-system is to give due recognition to students who have contributed to social services or made outstanding achievements in non-academic areas such as sports, music, social services, other cultural activities, or who have demonstrated leadership abilities. It is hoped that this Sub-system will also encourage schools to provide opportunities for their students to participate in different areas of non-academic activities, and students to make good use of these opportunities. The Sub-system can also provide universities, schools, and students with experience which will be useful in the possible development of a more flexible admissions Sub-system in Hong Kong which does not over-rely on public examination results.
Applicants who possess the above qualities may be considered for nomination by your school principal.

Self-Recommendation Scheme
The University provides a comprehensive education to students based on the philosophy of whole-person development. One of the aims of introducing a Self-Recommendation Scheme is to offer applicants an opportunity to nominate themselves, through JUPAS, into CityU programmes with their non-academic achievements and extra-curricular activities. The Scheme complements the School Principal's Nominations Scheme of JUPAS and the University's Outstanding Student Athletes Admission Scheme to give due recognition to achievements outside the classroom.
Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration under the Scheme, applicants should have:
- selected at least one CityU programme as their Band A choices as of July, after the reprioritization exercise
- fulfilled the minimum entrance requirements of the Band A programme(s)
Assessment
The information submitted by applicants under the Self-Recommendation Scheme through JUPAS will be analyzed and translated into a non-academic score. Consideration will be given to qualified Band A applicants only. Suitable candidates will be given a higher priority in the merit order list for JUPAS iteration during the main round exercise.
Announcement of Results
Application results will be announced by the JUPAS Office. No separate notification will be sent to applicants.
