Service Interruption of Email Alias Application on Tuesday, 12 May

Please be informed that the Email Alias Application system is scheduled for upgrade on Tuesday, 12 May 2009, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm . During the upgrade, the Email Alias Application Service will not be available. The service will resume as soon as the upgrade is completed.

Apply Personal Email Alias
This option is for applying a Personal Email Alias for your
email account.
Your choice of Personal Email Alias , maximum 20 characters long, helps your
email correspondents to recall who you are as well as remember your email address more easily. It can be your full name, initials, nickname etc. For
example, Sam Lee owns a student email account with Username/EID abcdefg2 . He may select names
like " Sam.Lee " to be his Personal Email Alias. It means that
IN ADDITION TO the original email address
" abcdefg2 @student.cityu.edu.hk ", Sam can also use the
address " Sam.Lee @student.cityu.edu.hk " for the same
email account. With other users also setting up their Email Aliases, you will be able to send mail to them simply by specifying their Email Alias,
e.g. using " Candy.Tong "
instead of " cdefghi7 ".
Please
note that you can only have ONE Personal Email Alias for your email account, and it can neither be CHANGED nor DELETED once registered. So, think
carefully before submitting your application.
